Lesson #1: More Tell - All of it (AKA: Motel Audit)

Say three brothers go out of town and to a motel where the clerk says, " We have one room left but it will cost you 30 dollars". OK , so they each ante up 10 dollars for the night. After they left the counter the manager comes by and says, "Hey don't you remember there is a special tonight and it's only 25 dollars, not 30 dollars". So the clerk takes 5 dollars out of the cash register and off he goes to the room. On the way however he thinks--- "Hey they don't know it's only 25 dollars, I'll just give them each one dollar back and keep 2 dollars for my trouble." So he gives each man back one dollar and keeps two for himself. Here's the weird part: That means that each of the men paid 9 dollars a piece for their night's stay (10 dollars - 1 dollar) but the clerk only kept 2 dollars for himself. If you take 9 and multiply it by 3 you get 27 : add the 2 dollars the clerk kept and you get (30 dollars??) No 29 dollars. What happened to the one dollar???? If you can't find it, the answer can be found at
