For one hour of service given to someone you receive one Time Dollar that you bank in the Time Exchange

On Friday August 21st I joined Hour4hourtimeexchange. I was impressed with the concept that everyone's time is of equal value.

I was going through Rainier, Washington looking for wood flooring work. I happened to notice that booths were being set up for a weekend craft show and stopped in to find out what was involved.

I soon found out that there was going to be a parade on Saturday and that booth space was still available. I reserved two 10 x 10 spaces.

It was pretty short notice but I managed to put pictures together of wood flooring work I had done in the past for my table. I had some business card holders which I had made out of used hardwood flooring and added them as well.

One of my favorite techniques for doing craft shows is to sit out front using a tape measure as a fishing pole. I take the tape out about 5 or 6 feet and then pretend to reel in the people passing by. I get a lot of laughs and jokes but when they as ask, "Are you catching anything?" I direct them to the pictures of the inlay work where I inlaid quarter inch cherry into ash in the shape of goldfish.

Once I have them looking at the goldfish inlay I start talking about my experience in the wood flooring business and often they start looking at the other pictures. More often than not they end up taking my card for future reference.

One of the booths I checked out was for Hour4HourTimeExchange.org. Once I realized the potential of a time exchange I joined immediately. Unlike the dollar, a person's time is never devalued unless a person allows it to be devalued. Taking money out of the equation everyone earns "time dollars" where one hour of time equals on time dollar.

For one hour of service given to someone you receive one Time Dollar that you bank in the Time Exchange

I will be helping The local Historical Society restore the wood floors of the old schoolhouse in Rainier, Washington. for each hour I work using my skills I will earn one "time dollar". This "time dollar" will go into my account and I can use it for payment for an hour of someone else's time. I will also be earning "time dollars" when I teach people how I build websites and get top search engine placement.

Because the hour4hourtimeexchange is a member of the International TimeBanks.org System with over 200 branches in the USA as well as branches in Canada, Chile, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Israel, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, South Korea, United Kingdom, I could easily "pay someone" who is a member for building me a website in Minnesota or Italy with "time dollars". There is no conversion rate needed.

Time has Universal value in spite of what some people think. Time is often MORE valuable than money. You can always make more money.

It's value is the same today as it was forty years ago. I trade or barter an hour of my time with my God given skills for an hour of someone else's using their skills.
