This is a picture of painted wood floors before sanding using a drumsander. The job is located in Billings, MT. The customer had painted this design on the floor many years ago. Notice the cupping in the floor boards. The drumsander is on the floor and will be used to strip the paint off. Notice that the cover is up on the drumsander letting you see the drum loaded with sandpaper. I started this sanding with 36 grit sandpaper. Then sanded with 60 grit sandpaper to take out the scratches the 36 grit sandpaper had put into the wood flooring. I then sanded with 100 grit sandpaper to take out the scratches that the 60 grit sandpaper had put in.
As a final sanding the floor was screened with a 120 grit screen to prepare the floor for oil-modified Polyurethane. The wood under this paint is Pecan.
